week #28.  excuse the blurry pics, but i forgot to do this thing and i was sitting at work.  more people are wanting to feel my beard (which is weird) and more people are commenting (usually dudes…lol).  i’ve also grown pretty tired of people telling me i have food in my beard.  i get it, it’s just easier to clean my beard after i am done eating as opposed to trying to do it when i am eating!

also i need to shave my head again.

any ideas?

week #27.  i kinda feel like i should just go into the woods and live in a log cabin.  if i did that, no one would appreciate my sunglasses though, so idk.  i took a pic where i had one of those guards for my razor in my beard, but 1 inch is obviously too small when compared to the hair on my face.  maybe i’ll use it for topless tuesday.

I realize this may disappoint people, but I feel good about it. I accomplished a great deal with my beard: Grew it for basically nine months (Fun fact: That’s how long a baby grows inside it’s mommy before it’s born!), got it longer than I’ve ever had it before, braided it, had a blog about it with over 100 followers, became an internet celebrity on a gaming forum, had numerous compliments on it every time I went out in public.

But I’ve had it for a while and the weather is warming up and I just decided I needed a little less. And most importantly, FEELS GOOD MAN.

I don’t know what this means for the blog. It could become ryanvsryan, or you could just start following Ryan instead. Either way, I guess this means Ryan wins. Beard will make its return at some point, though. Thanks for everything, everyone.

bearsohmy-deactivated20100322 asked: I need some tips on beard care.

My chin hair grows faster than the sideburns/cheeks - should I trim to make everything look even or just let it grow? Trimmer or scissors? Help me bearded men, you're my only hope.

Probably just let it grow for a while (Maybe a month or two), if it’s still looking uneven go ahead and trim the thin patches. I shaved my cheeks because they’re patchy at the beginning, but I think if I would have given them a chance they would have grown out full like the rest of my beard. Once you start shaving one part, though, you’ve got to be committed to keeping that part clean for the rest of your beard’s life otherwise it’ll end up all cattywompus. If you can stand looking weird for a while you’ll end up with something nice.

I realize you can’t really see my beard, but… shrug. Couldn’t resist early 90s professional portrait look.
