i feel like it is a necessity to make the beard take its form better after a nights rest. otherwise, it will look all uneven and weirdly shaped. i thought i remember hearing ryan say something about combing a beard out on irc or somin and him saying something like it was cheating cause you try to make it look bigger.
in my opinion it only shows the full potential of the beard after a good nights rest/what have you.
I know the Ryan hates it, but I’m pretty neutral about it. I comb my beard usually a little bit after a shower, but it doesn’t really do much at this point other than make it look a little neater. There’s a stage where combing it will actually make it look a lot bigger, but I’m past that now. Now it only makes it look neater.
You could say it’s cheating, but you can always tell when someone combs out their beard so it doesn’t really matter, innit?

i am not against combing it to make it look neat, just against combing it out to look bigger. i comb my beard every morning after my shower (mostly to get the water out of it), but the beard needs a little direction. once it hits a certain size it will just start doing whatever you tell it to.
